Kim Bari Gronich joined the board of Step Up for Better Living in 2012 and was recently appointed vice president after leading the organization through its transformation and expansion. Kim did her undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Albany, where she obtained a B.S. in Finance in 1988. She later graduated from Brooklyn Law School, obtaining her juris doctorate in 1993, and was admitted to the New York State Bar. Kim has been practicing law ever since, focusing on personal injury, medical malpractice, labor law, and commercial litigation. Currently working as counsel to the Bar in her own firm, she successfully appears on thousands of cases in Suffolk County Supreme Court on behalf of hundreds of law firm clients. Kim is also on the Events Planning Committee for Reverse Rett, an organization that raises funds to develop a cure for Rett Syndrome. Kim got involved in nonprofit work as a way to continue to give back to underserved communities. Before working with Step Up, she was involved with a homeless shelter where she tutored the youngest residents. When the program ended, she wanted to continue her efforts more widely and found that opportunity with Step Up.
